Abstract The Bogolyubov U–V transformation method is generalized to the diagonalization of an electron–phonon Hamiltonian in the superconducting medium. The self‐consistent equations are written. The structure of the quasi‐particle spectrum is found. The criterium of superconductivity is discussed.
