Propagation of plasma waves in degenerate electron systems is considered. A modified dispersion equation for plasma waves is derived by taking into account the influence of random impurities without using perturbation theory. The damping of plasma waves is calculated for the T = 0 limit. It is shown that the damping is non‐zero in long wavelength limit due to the random impurities.
