A numerical analysis of the space–time evolution is performed for the population differences in stratified molecular systems of the donor–insulator–acceptor type with strong electron–deformation interaction. The influence of the initial population profile and pumping rate on the character of the evolution picture is studied in detail. The existence of the steady‐state nonlinear waves (the switch waves) in finite systems is proved and the velocities of these waves are calculated as well.
