Kinematical many‐beam corrections to the dynamical three‐beam and four‐beam approximations are derived analytically. The solutions yield refined extinction lengths and Bloch‐wave excitation coefficients tabulated for a variety of crystals and accelerating voltages (100 kV to 1 MV). Moreover, the results are used to analyse three‐beam and four‐beam features of electron transmission and anomalous absorption, and to represent many‐beam influences to critical‐voltage effects.
