The experimentally observed dispersion curve, specific heat, and Debye characteristic temperatures of the complex polyvalent aluminium and lead are reproduced using the phenomenological model developed earlier for the study of lattice dynamics of f.c.c. noble and transition metals. The model is employed to calculate the compressibilities of Al and Pb. The agreement between calculated and experimental results is satisfactory.
