For an Ising ferromagnet with S = 5/2, the magnetization 〈 S z 〉 and the Curie temperature T C are calculated using the pair model approximation. Assuming bilinear and biquadratic exchange interactions ( J and J ′) between nearest‐neighboring pair of spins and uniaxial single‐ionic anisotropy D for each spin, the behaviors of 〈 S z 〉 and T C as functions of these exchange parameters and the uniaxial anisotropy parameter are investigated for an Ising ferromagnet on crystal lattices of various types.
