The influence of hydrogen absorption on the electronic structure of V 1− y Fe y , alloys is studied. The results of the Mössbauer effect and X‐ray diffraction measurements as well as the positron annihilation data allows to determine the mean number of 3d‐like electrons localized at Fe atoms in V 1− y Fe y H x alloys. The problem of hydrogen participation in charge transfer in these alloys is also discussed.
