Inelastic scattering of fast electrons by isolated small metal particles is studied within the hydro‐dynamic model. The energy loss probability for multipole surface modes is calculated. Numerical calculations for r s = 2 jellium are carried out for different parameters: fast electron energy, electron impact parameter, radius of the partide, and energy loss.
