The thermoelectric power Q of dilute magnetic alloys in the presence of both, crystal electric field (CEF) and the external magnetic field H, is investigated for the case of metals containing magnetic impurities with crystal field split energy levels. It is found that the so called ‘anomalous’ thermoelectric power gets modified by H such that the maximum of Q gets shifted towards the lower side, i.e. T m < 0.3δ, increasing its height for a positive aspherical Coulomb potential. Various limiting cases also suggest the change in the behaviour of Q with temperature and H.
