Electric field gradient in Ag alloys

In Ag the impurity‐induced electric field gradient (efg) q and the asymmetry parameter η at the nearest neighbor due to Cd, In, Sn, and Sb are calculated. The valence efg q V is evaluated using an exact expression, valid at all distances from the impurity. The size effect efg q s is calculated using an oscillatory form for the displacement. Without the use of floating parameters, good agreement is obtained with the experiment for all the systems.
