In the framework of the Schwinger‐Keldysh formalism for nonequilibrium many‐particle systems the interaction of radiation with the electron‐hole system is considered. Spectral and kinetical properties of the photon within the system, i.e. the polariton, are investigated including the many‐body effects like phonon interaction, screening, and Pauli blocking. A kinetic equation for incoherent polaritons including the influences of these effects is presented.
