Pressure induced phase transitions in potassium and rubidium halides are studied. The screened Coulomb type potential form is used alongwith improved values of van der Waals constants. Parameters of the potential are determined separately for both the structures. The results are in good agreement with experimental values in case of KCl and KBr and show improvement over other theoretical values.
