Valence band splittings induced by exchange interaction with manganese 3d‐electrons are calculated for wurtzite‐type semimagnetic semiconductors. Variations of the wave functions, selection rules, and probabilities for optical transitions between the conduction band and the A, B, C valence subbands are obtained for H ∥ C 6 and H ⟂ C 6 geometries.
