It is shown that in uniaxial ferrites magnon‐polariton waves with unusual properties exist: Concerning the magnetic vector the waves are in general elliptically polarized with a longitudinal and a transverse component. However, concerning the electric vector the waves are linearly polarized. The properties of the waves are described in detail. Besides, the corresponding magnetic reststrahlen‐bands are calculated and discussed.
