Formulae are obtained, which enable one to develop an algorithm of an exact calculation of Green's function and the absorption spectrum of an exciton interacting with phonons for arbitrary parameters entering into the Hamiltonian at zero temperature. The expansion of Green's function into a continued fraction serves for the basis. As an illustration the absorption spectra are calculated for different parameter sets for an exciton with a three‐cosine band, which interacts with nonpolar optical phonons.
