The transverse dynamic susceptibility of thin ferromagnetic films is calculated within the framework of RPA by using of the method of equation of motion. A representation in which the general multiband Hamiltonian is diagonal in the Hartree‐Fock approximation is consequently used in all calculations. The expression, obtained in the paper for the dynamic susceptibility of thin films represents a generalization of the formula obtained by Cooke for bulk crystals. Certain approximations which allow to deal with this general formula are also discussed.
