A secondary mode is observed (at RT) in the FMR spectra of the bulk amorphous alloy Fe 40 Ni 40 B 20 subjected to an anneal at 250°C. This mode is interpreted as the surface spin wave mode because the observed magnetic resonance field dependences on the microwave frequency and on the direction of the external field towards the sample surface agree with the conclusions of the macroscopic FMR surface‐mode theory.
