Some optical and acoustical effects are studied which are due to the anharmonicity of vibrations of weakly bound atoms. Discontinuities are calculated of the sound absorption coefficient and of the real and imaginary parts of the differential dielectric permeability. Amplitudes are estimated of the vibrations corresponding to the nonlinear resonances at the frequencies ω = ω 0 /2 and ω = ω 0 /3, ω 0 being the eigenfrequency in the linear regime.
