Starting from a self‐consistent determination of the scattering properties of localised substitutional impurities the change in Knight shift in dilute alloys is calculated. The free‐electron theory of Daniel and Blandin is generalized to the case of the spherical band approximation. Numerical results are presented for Zn, Ga, and Ge impurities in a Cu host.
