The temperature dependence of the mean‐square displacement for Al is quantitatively calculated from first principles. The Debye temperature at higher and lower temperatures is also estimated using Debye's model. Then, using the volume dependence of the mean‐square displacement, the pressure effect on the melting temperature of Al is studied by Lindeman's melting law, and the melting curve obtained increases as function of the compressed volume.
