A possibility of optical detrapping to the second conduction band is investigated. A simple model is proposed to account for the coupling between the trap and band states. The coupling (when operative) is shown to shift the apparent distribution of trap depths towards greater values. Conclusions are utilized to propose a new experiment to locate the second conduction band of the anthracene crystal, and to probe its properties.
