A method is proposed for the calculation of compressibility of liquid metals using the longitudinal limit of the static structure factor. It is shown that the accurate determination of compressibility requires to take into account many‐ion interactions. The compressibility for alkali metals is calculated. The equality of static and dynamic compressibilities is proved.
