A semi‐infinite medium with a one‐component order parameter η is considered. It is assumed that the free energy density is given by a simple Landau‐type expansion in η, that the boundary condition is linear in η and Δη, and that fluctuations in the dielectric function depend linearly on fluctuations in η. With the useof phenomenological equations of motion the order‐parameter Green function is derived. Expressions are given, and illustrated numerically, for the power spectrum of order‐parameter fluctuations and the cross section for inelastic light scattering.
