A comparison between microscopic calculated data and experimental results permits to suggest the character of crystalline surroundings of a local center and to differentiate between surface and bulk centers. The deformation of an excited atomic state is investigated which reduces due to lattice deformation. The analysis of a site exciton state provides some informationon the resonance contribution to the energy.
