Using the hydrodynamic model of a plasma, the stimulated Brillouin scattering of laser radiation by an electron‐acoustic wave is investigated analytically in a semiconductor plasma in the presence of a dc magnetic field including the effect of the ponderomotive force. It is shown that the magnetic field decreases the threshold electric field and the growth rate.
