Electroreflection, photoconductivity, and Electroabsorption spectra are studied of Cd 1‐ x Mn x Te crystals with 0.0005 ≦ x ≦ 0.6 at 4.2 K at energies less than the free exciton line (FEL) energy in electric fields from 0.5 to 20 kV cm −1 . The peculiar form of the spectra and their field dependence enables the conclusion that the observed peaks are associated with the type (d 5 + h ω → d 6 ) photoionization of Mn 2+ ions.
