The hyperfine magnetic field at 181 Ta in the ferromagnetic intermetallic Laves compound (Y 0.97 Hf 0.03 ) Fe 2 is measured by the perturbed angular correlation method. A value H hf (Ta) = –14.4 T is obtained at 300 K. The temperature dependence of this field, measured in the range from 78 K up to and above, the Curie point, is shown to be different from that of the bulk magnetization.
