The stable phases of liquid crystals whose constituents contain chiral molecules are studied. Starting from the Landau free energy for the order parameter the soliton‐lattice solution of the incommensurate phase is analysed in detail. The solutions of the normal and commensurate phases are obtained by the transfer matrix method.
