The magnetic properties in a semi‐infinite ferromagnetic Ising model with enhanced surface couplings are studied by means of a new type of correlated effective field theory. For suitably enhanced surface exchange couplings J s = J (1 + Δ) there are surface orderings. A phase diagram, magnetization curves for surface and bulk, and short‐range order parameters are calculated.
