The thermodynamic behavior of a ferromagnet whose interactions are described by the Schrödinger spin‐exchange operator is investigated. The transition temperatures, magnetization, susceptibility, exchange energy, heat capacity, and entropy are calculated for general spin and lattice coordination number using the constant‐coupling approximation. Both first‐ and second‐order phase transitions are found. Comparison with some results of the high‐temperature expansion method shows some qualitative agreement.
