The calculations are carried out starting from the Boltzmann equation. The Faraday rotation and ellipticity of the third harmonic in the current density, are associated with the energy dependence of the momentum relaxation time for a parabolic band and with the nonparabolicity of the band for a constant relaxation time. The present results predict a large enhancement due to resonance at high magnetic fields. It is shown that the magneto‐optical effects have an oscillatory region.
