In terms of the pseudopotential method the Hume‐Rothery electron phase stability is studied. Unlike the previous studies here the effects related to the nonsphericity of the Fermi surface are taken into account. The numerical calculations are carried out for the CuZn system. It is shown that the theory results in a phase alternation which is observed at rather high temperatures. The conclusion is made that the account of real Fermi surface is in principle necessary in analyzing the electron phase stability.
