Using the reduction symmetry properties of crystals, the invariant expansions of the energy of induced magnetic anisotropy (IMA) are given for all point groups. The expansion is performed by deriving the tensor functions on the basis of polar and axial vectors. The relationship between the IMA invariant constants and the constants generally used is given. The influence of invariants of third order on IMA is discussed. The dependences of invariant constants on the composition are given for some magnetic materials.
