For Pb 1‐ x Sn x Se single crystals with x = 0.035, 0.045, and 0.070 the interband magnetooptical reflectivity (IMOR) is studied using a CO 2 laser emitting between 10.1 and 10.7 μm and variable magnetic fields up to 5.5 T. The spectra are obtained with the samples in Faraday configuration for left circularly, right circularly, and linearly polarized (lcp, rcp, and lp) radiation. The experimentally determined transition energies lead to band parameters calculated with a six‐band model, which are discussed in terms of their dependence on alloy composition.
