The resonance consequences of elliptic spin‐wave polarization are analysed in the general case where both, internal and surface anisotropy contribute independently to the ellipticity. The surface source of ellipticity is found to modify essentially the quantization rule of wave numbers, leading to new effects in the frequency and surface anisotropy dependence of the resonance modes.
