Polarization‐ and temperature‐dependent transmittance and reflectance spectra of InSe are measured in the wavenumber range from 200 to 500 cm −1 . The absorption peaks observed are interpreted in terms of two‐phonon combination modes due to Γ point phonons considering the β‐, ϵ‐ and γ‐polytypes. It is concluded that the InSe crystals are of the γ‐polytype. Mode Grüneisen parameters are estimated for the intralayer modes.
