Pressure Derivatives of Elastic Stiffness Constants under Pressure of Si and Ge

The bulk modulus B , the shear elastic constants C 44 and C ′ = ( C 11 – C 12 )/2 under pressure of Si and Ge are studied theoretically using the presented local Heine‐Abarenkov model potential and the higher order perturbational formalism. The pressure‐derivatives d B /d P , d C 44 /d P , and d C ′/d P decrease under compression from the experimental data at low pressures, and d C 44 /d P and d C ′/d P tend to become negative below about 100 kbar.
