Statements of the Dimmock model with respect to dispersion relation und wave functions are discussed within the framework of the k ·‐matrix of Mitchell and Wallis. The eigenvalues obtained are compared with the exact secular equation of a six‐band model which neglects the interaction between far bands. With respect to the dependence on the Fermi energy of carrier concentration and density of states predictions of the Kane model, of a recent developed multiband model, and of the Dimmock model are compared.
