Some actinide compounds, which have non‐zero f‐bandwidth, are found to exhibit mixed‐valence behaviour for a certain range of composition and temperature. The effects are studied of finite f‐bandwidth on the semiconductor–metal transition and the existence of a mixed‐valence phase using the extended Falicov‐Kimball model.
