Raman scattering of light in antiferromagnetic chromium is discussed in terms of conventional second‐order time‐dependent perturbation theory. The scattering cross‐section as a function of frequency and temperature is calculated for the scattering of light by one‐electron, one‐hole, and electron‐hole pair excitations. It is shown that the unphysical divergence of the scattering crosssection for the photon energy transfer equal twice the antiferromagnetic energy gap found by Kwok, Woo, and Jha is removed by taking properly into account the statistical coherence factors.
