An exact calculation of the complete equilibrium thermodynamics of a model antiferromagnet is presented. Attention is focussed on the Néel point and associated critical phenomena and many standard critical exponents are calculated. The model has infinite‐range interactions and classical exponent values result. The importance, for theory, of staggered magnetizations and magnetic fields is emphasized. Experimental results frequently refer to total magnetizations and uniform fields. The interrelation between these two descriptions is investigated within the context of the present model.
