The effect is considered of the weak electron‐phonon interaction on the density‐of‐states tail and tail‐to‐band optical absorption in disordered semiconductors. The frequency dependence of the relevant absorption coefficient is discussed as well as the correlation between the coefficient and the density of states of the fluctuation level.
