The phase boundary between the paramagnetic and antiferromagnetic phases, and that between the paramagnetic and spin‐flop phases of the Heisenberg‐Ising model with anisotropic exchange energy are calculated by the method of pair approximation. The critical field curves are satisfactory except at the very low temperature. The reliability of the critical field in the low temperature region is closely related to the problem of the appearance of the anti‐Néel point, and is discussed by calculating the values of the Néel point and the anti‐Néel point by the method of the square approximation and comparing them with those by the pair approximation.
