The phonon spectra of the A 1 ‐type symmetry vibrations in LiTaO 3 , are measured by Raman scattering techniques over a wide temperature range which include the phase transition point. These spectra are then analyzed using the Kramers‐Kronig relations to obtain the temperature and frequency dependence of the static dielectric constant, ϵ zz , and the infrared (IR) reflection spectra. Good agreement is obtained with results of direct experimental measurement.
