The frequency dependence of the light absorption coefficient is calculated in the tail region for disordered semiconductors with the Gaussian Δ‐correlated random field. The optimal fluctuation method is employed. The frequency dependence of the absorption coefficient reproduces the density of states energy dependence (up to some coefficients in the exponent).
