The behaviour of the charge carriers heated in homogeneously by an intraband light absorption is studied in a hydrodynamical approximation. Conditions are stated under which a stable electron temperature superlattice exists as well as the conditions under which there are no stable stationary states; the electron liquid then moves stochastically, its temperature and velocity being bounded and randomly time‐dependent.
