Several types of (Ga°), (In°), and (Tl°) centres in the P‐state are produced in NaCl and KCl crystals doped with gallium, indium, and thallium by X‐irradiation, followed by suitable thermal and optical treatments. The EPR spectra of these centres are studied and the parameters of the spin Hamiltonian are determined from these spectra. The hyperfine interaction constants of (Ga°) and (In°) centres in NaCl are found to be nearly equal to those of free gallium and indium atoms. The structure of the centers investigated is discussed. In NaCl: Sn and KCl: Pb crystals X‐irradiated Sn + and Pb + centres in the P‐state are observed. The 2 S 1/2 state Pb 3+ centres are found to have anisotropic hyperfine interaction constants.
