The temperature dependence of the effective charges in ferroelectrics BaTiO 3 , KNbO 3 , and LiTaO 3 is investigated in the vicinity of the ferroelectric—paraelectric phase transition. The results are understood in terms of a displacive‐type mechanism rather than order—disorder.
