By ESR and optical absorption experiments the paramagnetic centers O   3 − , ClO 2 and (ClO 2 Cl) − are identified in irradiated single crystal Cd(ClO 3 ) 2 . The ESR spectrum and its angular dependence show that the centers have one magnetically equivalent site per unit cell. The thermal annealing of the centers show that they follow a first‐order kinetic activation process. Crystallographic data are obtained for Cd(ClO 3 ) 2 not available in the literature.
