Optically detected magnetic resonance is observed in nickel‐doped AgCl at liquid‐helium temperatures. The species found is thought to be [(NiCl 6 ) 5− Ag + vac ], indicating that [(NiCl 6 ) 4− Ag + vac ] traps electrons at low temperatures. The signals due to [(NiCl 6 ) 5− Ag + vac ] are weak and represent a decrease in light emission upon microwave absorption in accord with a simple model for radiative recombination.
